Mt Wellington Community Church – The church on the corner |
Mt. Wellington Community Church is known as "the church on the corner". We picked this name for a couple of reasons. The first one is that we are situated on one of the busiest corners in Auckland. The second, and probably more significant, is that we liken ourselves to a corner dairy. "Why a corner dairy?" you may ask.
The answer is easy. A corner dairy is an integral part of any community. It is a place that would be greatly missed if it were to shut down, and it meets a real need in the area. Also, there is nothing mystical about a dairy; it is a normal, accepted part of life. A dairy is able to meet specific needs we have and those needs change from person to person and from time to time. We believe this is what church should be: a normal and accepted part of life that meets people where they are at, and at their individual level.
We are excited about the way God has been and is continuing to work in the lives of those who attend the church. Three of our key focuses are the three R’s: Restoration, Reconciliation and Relationship.
As part of living this out in our community, we have established Maungarei Community Christian Trust (MCCT).
