Sunday services
- Bible-based teaching, worship music, weekly communion, kids talk,
- prayer, variety of people speaking in each service
- Parents room - for looking after pre-school children
- Thunder Mountain (Sunday school) - for primary school children
- 7 Up – for Year 7 kids and above (on hiatus until 2027)
Life groups
- Fundamental to church life at MWCC
- A place to care and be cared for (it’s difficult to receive quality pastoral care if you’re not in a life group)
- A variety of groups (daytime/evening, large/small, weekly/fortnightly etc)
- Three ways to find the right life group for you:
- Ask a church leader to recommend one
- Do a tour – experience them all
- Start one up (check with the Elders first)
Community lunch
Every Tuesday at midday, from February until Christmas, we host a free community lunch at Te Ao Ngākau, the community centre. This event provides not just kai but also an opportunity for social connection, including with MWCC whānau.
MWCC Youth
The youth group meets on Saturday nights, with a Bible study beforehand. For part of the year there are separate girls (Alight) and boys (Aknight) groups that meet instead of the all-together Bible study. They also attend multi-church youth events including the popular HM RAGE camp at King’s Birthday Weekend.
Wāhine Kotahi
This is a group of women (not necessarily mothers!) who meet fortnightly on a Thursday morning to go out together and enjoy social activities.
Events
- Providing a bridge for your non-churched friends to meet your churched friends
- Church Camp – every February/March at CYC Ngāruawahia
- Light Party – community street party as an alternative to Halloween
- Glow in the Park – Christmas event at Hamlin Park
- Outdoor activities such as frisbee, hiking
