As a church, and as individuals, we face many challenges. Some seem hard to cope with, or like they require more resources than we have to give.
John 15:5 says: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
Jesus wants us to know that as long as we remain in Him then we will have what we need to keep bearing fruit. The goal is not simply survival or getting what we want - it's growing together in Christ so we will see His Kingdom flow out of our words and actions into the community around us.
It's not always easy to trust God to provide and do the hardest work for us - and yet Jesus says that without relying on Him we will achieve nothing. That inner conflict between relying on Jesus or relying on ourselves is constant for all of us, sometimes we just need to be reminded to turn back to Jesus and remain in Him rather than worrying about the details.
Let us remain in Him, and bear the fruit of His Kingdom for all to see.
