Hi. As I write this I am sitting in my hotel room overlooking the lush green spring English countryside. It is quite beautiful. The trees are all in the new growth, vivid green and the rabbits and squirrels are everywhere. (I have been in a conference all week so I have seen all this through the conference room windows lol.)
One of the many issues discussed at the conference was the misunderstandings that arise in any organisation (Christian or not) but should not arise in a Christian organisation. Issues such as mistrust, not speaking well of others, gossip, etc. These things are exacerbated when you mix in different cultural norms.
The question was asked "So what do we do to stop it and what do we do to make sure it doesn't raise its ugly head again"
Lots of ideas were given and people suggested different programmes and then someone (me) suggested that we practice the one another's of Scripture. It is not rocket science really and they can all be summed but by Jesus words in Matthew 7:12
12 "Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behaviour: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God's Law and Prophets and this is what you get.
This is something we try really hard to live out here at MWCC but it is amazing how easy it is to start justifying to ourselves reasons why we don't have to live this out. But there is no reason not to live it out. Jesus told us to do it.
