Rarotonga. What a great time we were able to have as a whanau
for my brother's wedding. This has been a long time coming. The
opportunity to celebrate this wonderful occasion in such a
beautiful setting was amazing. God has definitely created a
beautiful amazing world.
One of the things that people working in the tourist areas there kept doing was to point people back to God. Each tour or event began with a karakia; "Here in Rarotonga we like to start with a prayer before we do anything". A lady at one of the dinner and show evenings that we went to said, "It is interesting how the missionaries (white people) brought the gospel here and told us to put clothes on, yet today they (white people) come here and wear hardly any clothes and don't go to church! Interesting observation.
Continents like Asia and Africa are sending missionaries here to Aotearoa now because around the world Western countries like ours are seen to need the gospel, and we do.
What is our response? How are we reaching out to our own? It's time for us to introduce people to Jesus.
Acts 17:26-27. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
