At Easter camp we heard a message suggesting we should be more "self-ish".
The idea being promoted was not one of greed, but rather that we should know who we are, and what we have to offer in order to be able to help others.
As a church we've been looking at who we are and what our identity is. We gathered some ideas at church camp and at the elders retreat.
Various ways of looking at identity include; what we look like, what we do, our character, our origins, our relationships…. These all look bland and uninteresting. When we include God, our identity takes on a whole new dimension.
I am made in God's image… God has planned good things for me to do… I am created anew in Christ Jesus… I have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ his son...
For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
