School is back! (I hear parents saying, "Praise the Lord!") Well it's been nearly a month already and school is back in the flow. The rhythm of school life is back in full flow. This time of the year there is such a great hum of enthusiasm and expectation. It is such an encouraging atmosphere to be around. Okay, okay, I realise that it is only the beginning of the year and the reality of life may set in at some stage.
It reminds me of when you see people who have just joined the family of God. New Christians are so enthusiastic and eager to learn and serve; then most of us tend to get into a bit of a rut. We are still committed, still following, still in love with God, but sometimes that spark just isn't there. One of the great things that we do at MWCC is to have communion every week. This is a great reminder for us of who Jesus is and what he has done for us. For me it reminds me of the love that I have for Him and his unconditional love for me. 1 John 4:9-12:
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."
