Over the January break I read Michelle Obama's book called "Becoming" She says these words in the preface. "Together in our cramped apartment on the South Side of Chicago my parents helped me to see the value in our story, in my story, in the larger story of our country. Even when it is not pretty or perfect. Even when it is more real than you want it to be. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something you own.
Three weeks ago, John and I as well as John and Heather Hutchinson went down to the Manawatu for the Rowe family reunion. (Yes, the Hutchinsons and Rowes are related.) We had a great time listening to the stories of the generations gone by. This was my first Rowe family reunion and there were 200 people there.
We all have a story to tell. As Michelle Obama says it may not be pretty or perfect, but it is yours. Easter is the perfect time to reflect on the greatest story ever told. Jesus who was God died and rose again so that our story will have a purpose. Having an eternal relationship with God is part of that story
What is your story? Does it include Jesus? If it doesn't than why not change your story so that Jesus is part of it.
Hope you all have a blessed Easter.
